Dr. John
Two classics from a Louisiana legend. Dr. John's Gumbo is basically a New Orleans tribute album filled with classic Nola songs. In The Right Place has The Meters as the backing band and is voodoo funk at it's best. If you don't have either of these, DO IT NOW!

Bonnie "Prince" Billy - Funtown Comedown
Bonnie got together with bluegrass band The Pickett Line and recorded this album live in the studio. It's bluegrass versions of his solo songs and a Merle cover too. My favorite thing he's done besides Greatest Palace Music.
